He took a hair cutting workshop at Jalan Besar Community Club out of boredom a few months ago.

Assistant manager at University Cultural Centre Terence Lau, 36, never thought he would eventually set up at a night market booth givinghaircuts to strangers.

Mr Lau set up a booth at The Local People (TLP): The Movember Night Market last Saturday. His booth was just one of the 90 located at levels five and six of the carpark at People’s Park Complex.

The event helped raise about $900, which will go to the Singapore Cancer Society to help fund prostate cancer survivorship programs Said Mr Low: “It’s a different way to raise awareness about issues such as prostate cancer, especially to people in the younger age group who might have not heard about it.”
