It’s one of the last bastions of male camaraderie– the men-only barbershop.
A place for men to catch-up with acquaintances and where manly conversations are had.
Mr Kenneth Christopher Meals is one of two resident barbers – not a stylist or a hairdresser – at one such shop, Hounds Of The Baskervilles, set in the style of 1950s America.
Hounds Of The Baskervilles is part barber shop, part tattoo parlour, run by MrFeroze McLeod.
From noon to 10pm daily, Mr Meals’ tattooed arms and fingers hover steadily and professionally over each customer.
On offer are fades and tapers, pompadours, executive combovers and mohawks, among others. No chemicals, colouring, rebonding or elaborate coifs here.
