The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s (RSAF) famed Black Knights team will be performing 21 aerial manoeuvres during this year’s Singapore Airshow.

The display, which will last about 22 minutes, is also part of the RSAF’s 45th anniversary celebrations.

The Black Knights, the force’s aerobatics team, has come up with eight new moves, which they will debut during the air show next month.

The moves involve the F-16 jets flying in formation and criss-crossing each other at high speeds.

All the planes have been painted in the red and white colours of the Singapore flag, together with the crescent moon and five stars.

The team of six pilots will be led by Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Leong, who has been with the RSAF for 26 years.

The Black Knights are not a full-time aerobatics team, unlike many others. It is made up of operational pilots.
